Olitt provides a free subdomain for every website created. However, it is possible to connect a custom domain to your website. To do this, follow the steps below:
Note: The domain you are connecting should already be registered so that it is accessible online.
1.Login to Olitt
2. On the Site Actions dropdown, select Connect Domain
3. At this point, you can either Purchase a new domain or Connect one that you have already registered. If your domain is not yet registered, proceed to register through the Purchase Your Own Domain tab. Otherwise, use the Connect an Exisiting Domain tab. Type in your domain and click Connect
4. On clicking the Connect button, your domain DNS configuration will be checked to determine if they are correct. If correct, the following Valid Configuration message will be displayed
Otherwise, the following will be displayed with instructions on how to fix the problem
Note that, there are 2 ways to connect your DNS.
– By changing your nameservers to Olitt nameservers (Recommended for most users)
– By changing your A records (Recommended for users who manage their DNS externally e.g on AWS or Cloudflare) . In this case, please view this guide.
5. Once this is done, your website will be accessible via your domain. It will take about 10mins (maximum) for our systems to issue an SSL for your website.
