The timing of a post is everything. A post created at the right time enhances visibility and brings you more traffic. Using Olitt, you can schedule posts to WordPress. To do so, follow the steps below
Create an App Password #
To schedule posts, you need to create an App Password on WordPress.
1.Login to WordPress
2. On the left side bar, go to Users and edit the specific user you want associated with the Posts
3. Scroll down until you see a section labelled Application Passwords
4. Under New Application Password Name, type in a password name then click Add New Application Password
5. Copy the password generated there and save it in a safe location. It will look something like this: tkAh 3Wf8 sbSU OmMk Bbio G0jX
Connect Olitt to Your WordPress Installation #
1.Now, login to your Olitt Account and go to Social Media Manager
2.Click Add Channel then click WordPress
3.Fill in the details as follows:
Domain URL: this is the link to your website, eg https://eunices-auab5c15.wp.staging.olitt.io
Username: this is the login username to your WordPress account, eg admin_968
Password: this is the App password you created above, eg tkAh 3Wf8 sbSU OmMk Bbio G0jX
4. Click Connect.
Your should then see a WordPress icon under the Channels column. Note that you can add as many WordPress instances as you would like.
Schedule a Post #
Once the setup above is completed, scheduling a post is now very easy.
1.Next to the WordPress channel you’ve just added, click Create Post on the More menu (three dots button)
2. Click Create Post
3. On the Modal that appears, type in your article. You can insert media on your post by clicking Insert Media button. You can also design a picture.
4. Next, on the right side, click the Settings(WordPress) tab. Here you will be able to add a Title, Tags and Feature image (cover image) and choose if the article is a Post or Page.
5. Once those are filled in, navigate to the top of the modal and select a date and time when you would like the post to be scheduled.
6. Finally, click Add to Calendar button

Troubleshooting #
If you are unable to connect WordPress, these are some of the areas you could check to troubleshoot
1. Confirm the SSL certificate of your website is valid. Your site should not display Insecure message when accessed. If the site shows as secure but still unable to connect, test the validity of the SSL using SSL Labs
2. Confirm that you are using App Password and not the WordPress admin login password.
